Laiobo Reserve

Laiabo Reserve is a completely private 20,000 acre estate located in Waterberg Mountains. This is a genuine safari house in the wilderness showcasing amazing architectural assets which is perfect for family or friend gatherings.

Overview

Offering breath-taking views over Palala Valley, Laiobo has a great African style design. Benefitting from a heated infinity pool, with exquisite views and a relaxing rooftop Jacuzzi, guests can relax and unwind after a day out on safari. With a plethora of places to chill-out and socialise, guests are invited to relax in any of the soft seated areas in the house, or gather around the sunken fire pit for a typical African sundowner.

Owned by an English family who created this spectacular African bush villa and made it their private home, Laiobo Private Reserve has been made available for rent on an exclusive basis. Guests benefit from complete privacy of 20,000 acres and will fall in love with the unique and wild atmosphere of the place. Laiobo showcases award winning architecture and design, endless activities that will blow your mind, and supreme hosting. For larger groups or guests travelling with personal staff Laiobo Lodge offers overspill chalets within walking distance from The Observatory.

Laiobo private reserve is divided into two parts: the Observatory and the extra chalets of Laiobo Lodge.

The Observatory is a state of art four bedroom house designed by award winning architects Silvio Rech and Lesley Carstens, that can accommodate six adults and three children. It takes its name from the 7m tower shaped library, crowned with an automated rotating copper dome from California, which houses a 20-inch telescope and even a solar scope. Designed by renowned architects the house is a special adventure in itself – rational and carefully thought through, but designed to provide experiences, surprises and delights around every corner.

The Observatory has an ultra-stylish but liveable design and has four-bedrooms that can accommodate six adults and three or four children. Built on the top of a hill facing west to capture the setting sun, with four poster beds, egg shaped baths and open-air showers Laiobo offers the perfect setting to hunker down and lose your heart. The bedrooms all have spectacular views and boast large spacious en-suite bathrooms, each of them equipped with open fireplaces, countless accessories and a daybed for relaxing. The master bedroom has a large four poster bed with mosquito net and a Bowers and Wilkins audio system. The different fabrics and textures give an incredible feeling to the residents.

The lodge has a great African style and offers breathtaking views over the Palala valley. It is composed of eight cottages that can sleep up to 22 people (16 adults and 6 children), and an additional newly built family cottage which has two double rooms.

Guests relax in any of the lounge areas, enjoy the bar, the snooker table, the sunken fire pit and an amazing heated swimming facing the mountains. They are invited to socialize in the boma.

Each cottage is designed in a rustic typical safari style. They have their own deck, a double bed or two single beds and showers. One is built into the side of the escarpment and has a four poster double bed. It features an en-suite bathroom whose doors open onto a private deck providing mazing views of the forest.
