To be honest, any house at UT would be a great sorority experience with attractive, smart girls. This is pretty accurate, but I go to a southern school where Chi O and Kappa are at the very top. We don't have much of that her in or country, but from what I have gathered it's not so bad if you find the right one to be a part of. Also, I know several Kappa Kappa Gamma's from other schools, and boy are you right about them! They and their friends are NOTHING like the disbarging comments. Id say theyre all relatively equal now. I was exposed to a bunch of them my sophomore year in college, and learned a bit through "osmosis" although I can completely understand not wanting to pledge! It's different at all schools, but at my school were known as being the funnest sorority to party with and we have the best sisterhood. Rather than judging women before you even meet them, why not talk to them and see if it is right for you? -Drop- Unlike some other top-tier sororities, Kappa Delta members do not have a reputation for being all clones or princesses, but they tend to be popular and social. I am still stunned by the APhi turnaround but I see things from AXiD that make me think they are working something there that my chapter is not. Again, to get in you need to know people, be beautiful, and be from the right areas. So if the charity work is what you are worried about, do some research on what the specific philanthropies of the chapters at your school are. Theyve got a great house. Some rely on their old reputation, even though their reality is not quite as shiny. Not every sorority is going to have the same reputation on every campus, and trust me, reading this crap will just make you miserable during recruitment. No matter what sorority it is you'll find beautiful women inside and out that want to achieve great things. Then it's between Tri-Delt, Theta, and DG. Pi Beta Phi at Arkansas is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what is posted on here. However, many consider Kappas materialistic. Their PC18 is incredible. Because of this, only the nastiest sorority girls will outwardly dislike a Delta Zeta girl. I went DG, (slu++y/partners) reputation but undeserved, except for 30-40%. IMO they will surpass Kappa in the next few years and it will be PZT. The description of my Fraternal organization does not fit my experience in the least. Sure, being a freshman gives you a better chance because you will be a 4-year member, but at the same time, sometimes the older girls that join halfway through college end up being stronger members for the short time they are there, and it also sets you apart from all the freshmen who are rushing because you are different! :) Theta love. The words youll often hear about DGs are nice, social butterflies, and good girls. Their good girl reputation means they typically dont tolerate mean girl cattiness. The consensus, if there is one, is that Chi Omega is respected but not necessarily exalted among sororities. They are running with PKT girls and are wilder than Pi phi or Kappaat least the non-Bible beater part of the chapter. Your chapter sisters are the ones you need to mesh with. They aren't called "Del Grandes" for nothin'. That is probably why you think they are the worst. Zetas PC18 is not even in the same league as Chi-O and DDD. Not good from everything i'm reading and I don't know how accurate it is. Most girls are pretty and nice, probably one of the more classier sororities. They are incredibly happy there and I was shocked frankly that they rushed to begin with. My younger sister pledged Pi Phi at Kansas, and again, mostly blonde, debutantes, and extremely selective. At the bottom tier is kappa kappa gamma, delta zeta, AZD, and kappa delta. You seem very accurate in your general portrayals of the different sororities. However, DZ women are also known for their strong sisterhood and mutual support. AXOs are nice and friendly, which can make them somewhat classy. Greek life at UT has been wonderful for my daughter, but she had to go in with an open mind and keep it. From the little I do know some sororities do charities and that is good in my book. They took a lot of girls Theta, Pi Phi, and Chi o all had at pref though so bet some people dont agree with you. Despite their relatively low profile, Alpha Chi Omegas are considered down-to-earth and genuine. These girls are amazingly talented and unique and express their own individualism while having most of the campus like them. They are not regarded as nicebut not outright nasty either.
